Irancell Sustainability Report Was Published for the Third Year
As the only player in Iran’s ICT industry that publishes sustainability report, Irancell has published a sustainability report or the third year in a row ending on 20 March 1401.
During the last three years, Irancell’s sustainability report has been published regularly with the aim of conducting a comprehensive review and evaluation on company’s performance. The said report is a reflection on the effective interaction with company’s stakeholders. In this report, Irancell deals with the social and environmental effects of its activities and the economic values resulting from it, while respecting the principles of corporate governance. Using an inclusive, accurate and unbiased view, the sustainability report provides subscribers, other stakeholders and interested parties with information about performance of the company, with a sustainability approach, during the period from 21 March 2022 to 20 March 2023.
Moreover, by publishing the third sustainability report, Irancell has voluntarily provided the stakeholders with the information necessary for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of its performance in the field of business sustainability.
In Irancell’s third sustainability report, topics such as Irancell’s ESG sustainability strategy, survey results determining sustainability priorities in Irancell’s business, responsible supply chain, comprehensive communication network (ease of access), greenhouse gas emissions (carbon footprint) and energy management, electronic waste, digital literacy, bridging the digital divide, infrastructure development for digital economy, participation in the public sector of the economy, and human capital management are discussed.
As the first and largest digital operator, Irancell always strives to facilitate and expand the access to digital life facilities for all Iranians, in order to achieve sustainable development in Iran. The macro and important company information included in the “sustainability report” can provide the stakeholders with an overview of Irancell’s social and environmental performance and activities in the course of sustainable development. This information presents to company’s stakeholders an image of the nature and economic value, environmental and social effects and measures, as well as the quality of Irancell’s corporate governance. Therefore, the sustainability report provides a comprehensive view on Irancell’s macro goals, approaches and performance from the perspective of social, economic and environmental effects.
The sustainability report is the advanced form of reports prepared by the world’s economic enterprises, which provides a comprehensive tool to review and evaluate the organization’s performance and its effects on society and environment. The information in this report gives a big picture to the company’s stakeholders about the nature and extent of socio-economic value creation as well as the quality of corporate governance.
This report is compiled and presented in five chapters, including “Sustainability in Irancell”, “Corporate Governance”, “Society”, “Environment” and “Digital Economy”.
