MTN Irancell launched Iran’s First Smart City at Anzali Free Trade-Industrial Zone at the presence of the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani.

Smart City concepts are being driven by emerging technologies and trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and are a designation given to an urban space that incorporates information and communication.
In the first phase of Anzali Smart City project, several areas of the city management will be incorporated into the initiative, including intelligent management of solid waste, optimal irrigation of green spaces, and measurement of the water level in reservoirs.
Street lighting, monitoring air pollution, parking spot availability and Near Field Communication (NFC) payment services will be incorporated in the second phase of the project.
MTN-Irancell, offered the majority of the technology and services in this regard. The overarching aim of a smart city is to enhance the quality of living through smart technology. The Free Trade-Industrial Zone payment gateways including customs, entertainment venues, conference halls, etc. will be equipped as well.
Launching this service has an important role in enhancing the well-being of residents and tourists of Anzali Free Trade-Industrial Zone and by facilitating payment processes, playing a part to attract more tourists and also helps with the import and export.
